JCC EGG HUNT

Steve Ferency – WKHM (3/26/16  |  Jackson, MI)

Jackson College’s central campus was filled with hundreds of eager children ready to participate in Jackson College’s Third Annual FREE Easter egg hunt this morning.

Families started lining up as early as 9:30am for their chance to grab as many eggs as they could.  At 10:30am, it was time.  3,2,1 – GO!

This year was a record year for the number of eggs, and attendance.  There were more than 25,000 eggs for the taking, 10,000 more eggs than last year.  Event organizers said they were a bit worried about the weather, but the sun prevailed and everything was perfect.  A little chilly but hey, that’s early spring in Michigan.

The 3rd Annual egg hunt was for children from birth to age 2, followed by groups of kids age 3 to 5, 6 to 7 and 8 to 10.

“I think it was perfect, a great fun family outing,” Jackson resident Stacy Spink said. “It gets the community together in one place and just keeps getting bigger and better.”

The Easter egg hunt is just one of several events that the college has planned this year to further connect with our community.  “We couldn’t have asked for a better day,” said event volunteer Heather Wollen about Saturday’s event. “We’re thrilled to see such a big turnout this year.”

The event also hosted over 5 Bounce Houses, Face painting, and of course the Easter Bunny.

More events are to come for Jackson College as they work on new ways to connect with our great community.
