Michigan COVID-19 Update for Tuesday, April 28

The State of Michigan is reporting a new total of 39,262 total confirmed cases of COVID-19, up 1,052 from yesterday’s report; and a new report of 3,567 total COVID-19 fatalities, up 160 from yesterday.

As a result of the most recent review of Vital Records and testing data, today’s data includes 40 additional deaths which did not necessarily occur within the last day.

As of April 24, a total of 8,342 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Michigan.

The CDC is reporting the following symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • new loss of taste or smell

According to the CDC, Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your healthcare provider about what to do next. If you have an emergency warning sign including trouble breathing, seek medical attention right away.
