M-50 Construction for Paving Improvements in Brooklyn Begin Monday

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that they will begin a paving project on M-50 in Brooklyn from M-124 south to Handy Highway beginning on Monday.

The project is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. on April 13, with a current estimated end date of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

MDOT says this project will require intermittent single-lane closures to ensure the safety of workers and motorists, and that drivers should expect delays while the work is taking place.

The goal for the improvements of the project is to provide drivers with a safer, smoother ride.

Based on economic modeling from the State of Michigan, this $1.9 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 16 jobs.

A visual map of the impacted area can be accessed by clicking here or found on the MDOT website.
