Third Suspect Now in Custody for May 2025 Jackson County Homicide

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Office of the Sheriff (JCSO) has announced that all three suspects in relation to a May 2025 homicide that resulted in the death of Anthony Owens Jr. are in police custody.

Two of the suspects, Tyrek Tra-Quan Jabrie Rice and Montez Martees White, were previously apprehended. The third suspect, Dion Jamel Flowers Jr., was announced by authorities as in police custody on Monday morning (March 2).

The investigation began shortly after midnight on May 16, 2025, when three subjects approached a residence in the 100 block of Lincoln Court on foot and opened fire, striking four men.

The victims, including Owens, were rushed to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, where Mr. Owens succumbed to his injuries the following day.

The suspects are facing multiple felony charges, including:

 

“The relentless work of our detectives and our law enforcement partners has ensured that these dangerous individuals are off our streets,” JCSO Sheriff Gary Schuette said in a statement.

“We hope these arrests bring a sense of relief to the families of the victims and the Jackson community. Our primary focus remains ensuring that justice is served for Anthony Owens and the survivors of this senseless violence.”

The JCSO also thanked the public for the numerous tips provided during this search.
