17th Annual Michigan International Speedway Charity Event on December 6

Irish Hills, Mich. (WKHM) — Update: MIS has announced that, due to snow on the track, they will not be able to hold the driving portion of the event this Saturday.

MIS will still be accepting food and toy donations from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Everyone who donates during this time will be registered for a drive on the track next spring as a thank you for support.

Michigan International Speedway (MIS) will hold their 17th annual MIS Cares Charity Track and Toy Drive event on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item or a new, unwrapped toy in exchange for a drive around the track in their own personal vehicle.

All donations from the event will support local charities including the St. Mary’s of Good Counsel Parish Food Pantry, Jackson County Toys for Tots, and Lenawee County Toys for Tots.

“We’re ready to kick off the holiday season in just a few weeks and the MIS Cares Charity Track and Toy Drive is the perfect event to start spreading holiday cheer,” said Joe Fowler, Michigan International Speedway President. “It’s important to give back to the community and to play a role in helping make the upcoming holidays special for families in the Irish Hills is what it’s all about.”

Guests can enter the event through the US-12 entrance. If bad weather prevents driving on the track, a make-up date will be scheduled for a later time.
