UPDATE – MARCH 20, 2025 – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED TIL 2026.
In an email from Ella Sharp Museum, the notice states:
Due to the forecasted conditions for this Saturday, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Sugaring and Shearing Festival hosted outdoors. While we are disappointed, the well-being of our guests, staff, and partners comes first, and we appreciate your understanding.
The Ella Sharp Museum’s annual Sugaring and Shearing Festival takes place this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., with the event being free for all to attend. Marketing and Communications Director Paula Crow told WKHM what Ella Sharp has in store for the event.
The festival has drawn a large number of people in recent years, something the museum expects to continue considering all that it offers to people of all ages.
Along with sheep shearing demonstrations, those who attend will have the opportunity to see a real-life example of tree sapping.
Volunteer opportunities for the Sugaring and Shearing Festival can be found at the bottom of the page for the festival on the website linked below.
