Wildwood and N. Wisner to be resurfaced; expect lane closures

construction-7-11-23

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The City of Jackson has announced that two busy Jackson streets with a reputation for bumpy rides will soon be improved.

Resurfacing of Wildwood Ave. between Steward Ave. and N. West Ave. began Monday, July 10. According to the City, Wildwood will remain open for westbound traffic only so driveways within the work zone will remain accessible. Eastbound traffic will be redirected with detour signage. In addition to new pavement, there will also be sidewalk and driveway repairs. The goal is to complete this project before the start of the new school year, as Jackson High School is located on this stretch of Wildwood.

Another resurfacing project on N. Wisner St. between Wildwood and W. Ganson is set to begin Monday, July 17. Two-way traffic will be maintained through the construction as this street contains businesses and shopping centers. This project also comes with sidewalk and driveway repairs.

The City says that crews anticipate completing both projects by August 10, however, that is subject to change due to weather, equipment, or labor delays.
