Brooklyn Bank Robbery Suspect Identified and Arraigned

Brooklyn, Mi:  Gabriel B. Schirmacher, a 23-year-old male from Jackson, is currently housed at the Jackson County Jail following his arraignment today, October 12th, 2022.  Schirmacher is charged with four counts related to yesterday’s robbery of the Brooklyn Comerica Bank, located at 11351 Brooklyn Road.  12th District Court Judge Robert Gaecke presided over the arraignment, where Schirmacher pleaded not guilty.

According to a press release from Columbia Township Police Chief Jay Niles, the counts are:

Count 1: Robbery-Armed punishable by life or any term of years in prison.

Count 2: Bank Robbery punishable by life or any term of years in prison.

Count 3: Weapons- Felony Firearm punishable by 2 years consecutively with any preceding term of

imprisonment imposedreading Brooklyn for the felony or attempted felony conviction.

Count 4: Controlled Substance-Possession punishable by 4 years and/or $25,000.00.

Schirmacher is being held on $400,000 bail.
