On Tuesday, May 3rd, Western School District residents will have the opportunity vote on a bond that, if approved, would allow the district to construct a new, centralized, elementary school facility to their Dearing Road Campus.
The Dearing Road location already houses both the High School and Middle School, as well as the districts sports venues and transportation. Mike Smajda, Superintendent of Western Schools, says the bond approval would not only bring in the new elementary, but it will also provide the district with climate control in every building.
Western School District currently has three elementary schools, including Parma, Warner and Bean. According to Smajda, moving all elementary students into a new building would increase collaboration amongst students and teachers, as well as reduce transportation costs.
More information on the bond can be found at https://wsdpanthers.weebly.com/
