Charges have been dismissed against a man accused in a shooting in the 100 block of Randolph Street in January of 2017, due to his mental incompetency to stand trial. 39-year-old Lamon Williams was charged with two felony counts of assault with intent to murder and a number of weapons charges. The Center for Forensic Psychiatry determined Williams was mentally incompetent to stand trial and he will remain in the care of the center until doctors can restore his competence. Once Williams’ competence has been restored, the prosecutor’s office intends to refile the charges against him.
