The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is about to kick off their season, and Music Director and lead conductor Matthew Aubin joined WKHM to talk about what’s in store.
The fall concert we’re partnering with (Henry Ford) Allegiance Health, it’s their 100th anniversary, and we’re celebrating the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein; who on August 25th turned 100.” Aubin said. “The season theme is kind of celebrate who he was as a musician.” The 100th Birthday Show at the Potter Center is September 29th, and kicks off the JSO’s 69th year.
For the Christmas holiday, the JSO is performing the Nutcracker, and the JSO Guild will be holding their annual Holiday Ball on December 1.
Not a fan of classical music? The JSO has “Music on Tap”, which began in 2014. It features non-classical music from Irish bands to bluegrass and beyond. The series features nationally touring acts.
