East-bound I-94 is closed indefinitely for cleanup of an overturned semi. Crews are on the scene, but the semi is still on its side as of 5:25pm.
6PM UPDATE:
The semi truck and trailer are still on their side. West bound traffic is moving with no issue; east bound traffic is encouraged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route, such as Michigan Avenue to Cooper Street or Parnall Road to Cooper Street.
6:30PM UPDATE:
The tow crews are preparing to get the semi righted. Still no timeframe on the highway reopening.
6:40PM UPDATE:
The truck and trailer have been set back on the wheels. It will still be a while before the highway is re-opened as the vehicle will need to be towed away and the debris cleared.
6:47PM UPDATE
One lane has been opened eastbound, however vehicles trying to get onto I94 from 127 North are NOT able to access the highway. You will still need to seek an alternate route.
7:00PM UPDATE:
The semi is being towed away now. The highway access should be reopened soon.
