One child was killed in a crash on eastbound I-94 at Airport Road in Jackson, Friday afternoon.
A semi rear-ended an SUV when entering the construction zone.
The SUV contained two adults and two children.
One of the children was pronounced dead at the scene. The other child was sent to Henry Ford Allegiance Health with serious injuries.
The two adults were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An off-duty police officer was traveling behind the accident and was able to assist before emergency crews arrived on scene.
