Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The American 1 Event Center was filled on Wednesday evening with community members and organizations gathered to honor community partners, recovery advocates, and the sober community at the 2026 PATH (prevention, awareness, treatment, healing) Summit held by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Six awardees were recognized at the event for their efforts in helping those with Substance Use Disorder:
- Educator Award: Pam Pence for her efforts in prevention and education leadership.
- Community Advocate Award: Courtney Page for being a voice for recovery.
- Community Organization Award: Home of New Vision for their community impact in recovery.
- Peer Recovery Coach Award: Dave Milosh for his lived experience leadership.
- Clergy Award: Pastor Kenneth Bass for his work in faith and hope in recovery.
- Therapist of the Year Award: Shannon Spicer for her way of healing through compassion.
Jackson County Prosecutor Kelsey Guernsey says that she was happy to see the response the PATH Summit received from the Jackson community.
Attendees heard from multiple speakers that have experienced their own struggles with addiction and have chosen to walk the difficult road to recovery.
Organizations that were at the event with tables that provided information about resources for those struggling with SUD included Catholic Charities, Home of New Vision, Recovery Technology, True Community Credit Union, Henry Ford Health, SOAR Café and Farms, Jackson College, Jackson County Office of the Sheriff, Drug Free Jackson, Jackson County Health Department, Andy’s Place, Segue, Michigan State Police Angel Program, Jackson YMCA, Family Service & Children’s Aid, and Alcoholics Anonymous.
