Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A months-long construction effort on US-127 in Jackson is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 30.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin construction on US-127 between Parnall Road (Exit 45) and Bellevue Road (Exit 56), starting with bridge repairs over Territorial Road and paving operations.
The work is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, and MDOT estimates that the project will continue through the end of October of this year.
This project will require intermittent lane and shoulder closures to ensure the safety of workers and drivers on the road.
The goal of the improvements is to provide drivers with a safer, smoother ride, and also to extend the service lives of the road and bridge.
Based on economic modeling from the State of Michigan, this $7.3 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 62 jobs.
Drivers are advised to expect delays in the work zone while the project is being completed.
