Major Feature Returns to Accessibility on Jackson County Office of the Sheriff Phone App

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A major feature on the mobile smartphone app for the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff (JCSO) has returned after weeks of issues.

The Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday that the ability to access and interact with the Jackson County Jail inmate roster has been fully restored and is back to normal operations.

From mid-December of last year through late January, the app would fail to show any listing of the inmates lodged at the county jail, something that the JCSO attributed to a vendor issue.

The function within the app allows users to view the inmate roster either from date of lodging or in alphabetical order, and users can also search for inmates by name. It also provides a reason for an inmate’s incarceration.

The JCSO thanked their community partners, law enforcement colleagues, and the citizens of Jackson County for your patience and understanding as they worked with their technical vendor to resolve these issues.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that they recognize the importance of this tool for transparency and public information, and expressed their appreciation of community support as they ensured the system was still functioning when the vendor issues were present.
