Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A discussion on homelessness with an expert panel of area representatives has officially been announced to be taking place at the City Center on Wednesday, August 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The panel is set to include:
- Steve Castle (Jackson Interfaith Shelter)
- Brooke Cross (Home of New Vision)
- Christi O’Neil (AWARE Shelter)
- Laura Reaume (Jackson Community Action Agency)
- Amber McKee (MyPlace)
- Tashia Carter (Residents in Action)
- Salena Taylor (Partial to Girls)
- Toby Berry (Continuum of Care)
- Eric Rice (Drive Staffing)
The panel aims to help educate attendees on the challenges, resources, and solutions surrounding homelessness in Jackson.
The conversation will be moderated by Zoe Lyons with the Nonprofit Network, and Myeshia Jones with the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition.
The event is presented in partnership with the Jackson Community Foundation, Consumers Energy Foundation, and United Way of South Central Michigan.
The discussion will be open to the public and the City Center is located at 145 W. Cortland Street in Downtown Jackson.
