Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) says they will begin bridge repairs and epoxy overlay in Jackson on I-94 between Elm Street and Airport Road and westbound I-94 Exit 139 to Cooper Street on Tuesday.
Eastbound I-94 will have two lanes closed from Airport Road to North Elm Avenue along with intermittent shoulder closures from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, until 6:00 p.m. August 7.
The Cooper Street on ramp to I-94 will be closed from 7:00 a.m. July 7 until 6:00 p.m. July 17. Motorists are advised that they should expect delays.
The lanes that will be closed are closed to ensure the safety of workers and motorists. MDOT hopes improvements will help extend the life of the bridge and ensure it remains safe for travel.
Based on economic modeling from the State of Michigan, this $1.1 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 10 jobs.
