Portion of Louis Glick Highway in Jackson Will be Fully Closed Beginning Monday

Jackson, MI (WKHM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) says they will continue bridge deck replacement and maintenance work on I-94 Business Loop (Louis Glick Highway) between Jackson Street and Mechanic Street on Monday, July 6, at 6:00 p.m. in Jackson.

The eastbound lane on this stretch of road has been closed since March, and MDOT says this project will require closing the full bridge to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.

Traffic will be detoured via Cooper Street to Washington Avenue, and motorists are advised that they should expect delays. The work currently has an estimated end date of October 16 of this year.

Based on economic modeling from the state of Michigan, this $13.1 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 111 jobs.

The improvements will help extend the life of the bridge and ensure it remains safe for travel.
