Drive Jackson Launched at Chamber’s Victory Lap

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce has officially launched “Drive Jackson,” a bold 20-year vision plan aimed at shaping the county’s future through 2045.

The plan was unveiled at the Chamber’s annual Victory Lap meeting, one year after the initiative was first announced. Organizers say community input played a major role, with nearly 6,000 pieces of feedback gathered from more than 1,300 residents, businesses, and local leaders through meetings, events, and online surveys.

Alexie Milukhin is the Community Growth Fellow, her main role for the next 15 months with the Chamber is implementing strategies of the Drive Jackson Plan.

The nearly 70-page plan outlines four main goals: improving quality of place and identity, investing in education and learning, strengthening housing and economic vitality, and fostering a safe and healthy community.

John Waldron from Southern Michigan Bank and Trust was among the many business leaders in attendance yesterday at the Cascades Manor.

Stu Kail is past board chair of the chamber.

A new Drive Jackson Vision Council has also been formed to guide implementation and track long-term progress.

The full plan is now available online at drivejacksoncounty.com.
