Sunday morning officers from the Blackman Leoni Department of Public Safety attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Wildwood Avenue and Evanston Drive, but the driver refused to pull over and a brief pursuit followed.
Police say the chase ended when the vehicle crashed, causing property damage at the intersection of West Street and Kibby Road. The driver then ran from the scene on foot.
Jackson County sheriff’s units assisted by setting up a perimeter in the area, though they were not involved in the vehicle pursuit itself. Despite a search, the driver was not located.
The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Blackman Leoni DPS.
