Jackson Police are investigating after a body with an apparent gunshot wound was discovered in a wooded area of the city.
Officers were called to the area of East High Street and Losey Street around 1:30 Sunday afternoon after the body was found. Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
Authorities say there is currently no suspect in custody and no threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing, and police say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
