Jackson Public Schools Will Interview Candidates to Fill Board of Education Vacancy

Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson Public Schools (JPS) needs to fill a vacancy on their Board of Education that was created after the resignation of Board President Shalanda Hunt, who was recently elected to Jackson City Council.

The JPS Board must appoint a replacement no later than December 30. The appointment will be for a one-year term, which ends on December 31, 2026.

Interviews with selected eligible candidates will occur during the regularly scheduled public JPS School Board meeting on December 16 at 6:00 p.m.

This is a public meeting, and JPS says that community members are welcome to attend. All candidates are expected to be present and prepared when their name is called for their interview.

Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest with their email address, phone number and an optional résumé by 4:00 p.m. December 12 to Sarah Ebersole with JPS.
