A no charge opportunity to ensure that your child is properly secured in their safety car seat is coming to Jackson’s Fire Department’s downtown station.
The free inspections will require no sign-up or have any cost associated with it. The free inspections will take place at 518 N. Jackson Street the following dates and times:
- Friday, October 14th, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm
- Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm
- Wednesday, December 13th, 2022 from 1pm to 3pm
“A lot of parents may be surprised to learn that their child’s car seat is not installed properly or could be dangerous in a crash” said Jackson Fire Department firefighter Matt Jabkiewicz. “This is a simple thing we can do to make sure children are safe as they can be while on the road.”
The firefighters ask that you bring the child / children that are using the car seats so they can look to see if it the right fit or that is properly secured for each child. Replacement car seats, though limited, will be given away as replacements while supplies last.
