Ingham Jackson County Partnership Nets Criminal Sexual Conduct Conviction in Jackson County

In a press release from Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Jerry Jarzynka, he lauded the success of the Ingham Jackson Regional Sexual Assault Kit Initiative.  The program came to Jackson in 2019 after the Ingham County Prosecutor’s office accepted a grant that expanded their investigations of previously untested sexual assault kits into Jackson County.  The kits are collected by various agency.

Jarzynka announced today the conviction of Tyrone Demarcus Parker, of Jackson, on 4 counts.  The jury, presided over by Hon. Edward J Grant of the 4th Circuit Court, found Parker guilty on 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, 1 count of Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd Degree and 1 count of Assault With Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than murder.

Parker was arrested in Kalamazoo County as a result of their Sexual Assault Kit Initiative that revealed Parker may be involved with possible sexual assaults in Jackson County.  In February of 2020 the case was handed to The Ingham Jackson Regional Assault Kit Initiative for investigation.

Parker is currently housed by the MDOC and is awaiting sentencing on June 16th at 9am before Hon. Edward J. Grant.
