Huge boost for the Jackson Fire Department as reported on over the weekend, new funding to the tune of $1,468,390 dollars has been awarded the department. The money comes from the Department of Homeland Security, staffing for an adequate Fire Response Program.
This will mean a likely increase in staffing, thus greater firefighting and mutual aid capability.
Michigan Senators, Gary Peters (Chair of The Senate Homeland Security, and Govt. Affairs Committee) and Debbie Stabenow made the funding announcement last Friday.
