Lansing Mayor Andy Schor released a statement Saturday morning warning people to stay away from the capitol area Sunday due to the possibility of protesting.
The City of Lansing also closed a series of streets in the area.
The Lansing Mayor asks downtown residents to consider staying inside Sunday and to not engage with possible demonstrators and added that there will be an increased law enforcement presence downtown through Inauguration Day.
