Second COVID-19 fatality in Jackson county

[Jackson, Michigan — April 1, 2020]

As of April 1, 2020, there have been 56 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Jackson County, and a second death due to the virus has just been reported. No further details on the latest fatality are available at this time, but WKHM will keep you updated as we learn more.

If you are experiencing symptoms, call your healthcare provider or the Henry Ford MyCare Advice Line (313) 874-7500)  It is important to follow the “Stay Home, Stay Safe, Save Lives” order by Governor Whitmer.  The JCHD Hotline Number at (517) 788-4420, option 9, is available to answer general questions and provide information regarding COVID-19.

When to Seek Medical Attention

If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include*:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion or inability to arouse
  • Bluish lips or face
