Due to the shortened Christmas season and an increase in need, the Salvation Army of Jackson County is one week behind last year in fundraising and is asking the community to give in order to assist those most in need. Their goal is to raise $225,000 by December 23rd through their Red Kettles, Christmas mail donations and in-kind giving. The food distribution program is in need of 450 frozen chickens, 100 frozen turkeys and 300 frozen hams.
