Snow melt, heavy rains and more rain the forecast have caused the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety to open the dam on Center Lake to avoid potential flooding. The dam opening will cause ice to deteriorate quickly, so people are warned to stay off the ice on Center Lake. A red light on the dam will stay on while it is open and will turn off when the dam has been closed.
