A lawsuit was filed Monday to have Leoni Township Supervisor Howard Linnabary removed from office for not taking an oath of office after winning his recall election in November. According to state law an elected township official must take an oath of office by January 1st, but that law does not clarify if that applies to officials surviving a recall. If an official doesn’t take an oath by January 1st the board can choose to appoint the official to the spot.
