When the Leoni Township Board of Trustees was looking for a new attorney for the township, they invited a number of lawyers to make presentations to the board at its January 8th meeting. Only one attorney showed up for the meeting and the board voted 5-2 in favor of contracting with him. Guy Conti is an Ann Arbor attorney with experience in bankruptcy and municipal law. He began practicing law in 2005 and has worked as an assistant or associate attorney in Belleville, Lodi Township and Ypsilanti. Conti replaces Eric White who was fired at a special meeting held on New Year’s eve. While White had earned $125 an hour plus a $750 monthly representation fee, Conti will earn $145 an hour and a representation fee has yet to be discussed.
