Chamber to Discuss Marijuana’s Effects on Businesses

With recreational marijuana now legal, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a roundtable discussion on the issue of what this might mean to employers. The event will take place December 17th from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Gene Davis and Sons Catering and Banquet Center on Francis Street. Topics to be discussed will include how the new law affects insurance and federal contracts, and on what short and long-term business impacts to expect. Facilitating the roundtable will be Wendy Block of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. It has yet to be determined which other industry leaders will help lead the discussion. The cost is $10 for chamber members and $15 for non-members. Those interested can register online.
