Attempted Escape Nets 2-15 Years

47-year-old Christopher Tucker was sentenced Thursday to 2-15 years in prison for his part in an attempted jail break last June. Tucker and his co-defendant, 40-year-old Jason Wesch were accused of trying to break out of the Jackson County Jail’s Chanter Road Facility by stealing a food delivery vehicle and ramming the facility’s gates. Tucker was also ordered to pay $500 restitution to cover the insurance deductible for damage caused in the escape attempt. Tucker pleaded guilty to his role in the jail break in November. Wesch remains in the county jail, awaiting trial on the escape charge as well as charges of malicious destruction of police or fire property, automobile theft and assaulting, resisting or obstructing a sergeant and two corrections deputies.
