It’s official. The 2016 K-105.3 Shape Up Jackson champion is…………… Marvin Potts.
With 17.47 of total percentage weight lost. Marvin took home $250 cash and a 1 year membership to the Jackson YMCA.
When Marvin was asked how he did it, he said, ““A lot of hard work. 80% diet, 20% working out. 100% Mental. My wife made me a lot of baked chicken, vegetables, and of course smaller portions. I even skipped Easter Dinner. Although I did eat a few deviled eggs and a biscuit.” “Thankfully”, he said, he was able to have leftovers after his final weigh in.
When we asked what he was going to do with the $250, Potts said, “I am going to buy some new clothes.” Having lost over that much weight can certainly cause a wardrobe redesign.
With a total 619 pounds lost in total for Shape Up Jackson, 2016 marks the largest total pounds lost for the annual competition. That’s the equivalent of 5 grown men.
The Jackson YMCA, who hosted the competition, said in a statement on their Facebook Page, “Congratulations to all of our K-105.3 Jackson’s Hit Music Station Shape Up Jackson contestants tonight! What an inspiring group. We hope you enjoyed the contest, and you continue on your journey to better health! We can’t wait to do this again next year!
