CELL BLOCK 7 PRISON MUSEUM OPENS THIS SATURDAY



THE CELL BLOCK 7 PRISON MUSEUM VIP GRAND OPENING IS THIS SATURDAY.  CELL BLOCK 7 IS OPERATED BY THE ELLA SHARP MUSEUM AND DETAILS THE LONG HISTORY OF THE STATE PRISON OF SOUTHERN MICHIGAN.  FROM THE OLD PRISON, WHICH IS NOW THE ARMORY ARTS VILLAGE WHICH WAS OPERATING IN THE 1800'S TO THE NEW PRISON WHICH BEGAN HOUSING PRISONERS IN THE 1920'S THE TOUR GFEATURES THE SIGHTS, THE SOUNDS, AND THE DETAILS OF THE LIFE OF AND THEIR ACCOMODATIONS.

HOURS FOR THE EXHIBIT ARE 10 AM TO 5 PM WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.  MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS ARE RESERVED FOR PRIVATE TOURS.

ADMISSION: $15 ADULTS
                      $ 8 CHILDREN 5 TO 12.  UNDER 5 ARE FREE
                      $10 FOR SENIORS, MILITARY, AND ELLA MEMBERS
                      ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE ELLA SHARP MUSEUM
