Jacksaon Man In Federal Court After Superdome Threats

Federal Court records say a longtime Detroit Lions fan threatened to blow up the new Orleans Superdome during the Lions’ January 7th playoff loss to the Saints.  The Detroit News reports that records say Jackson resident Shawn Payton called in threats when the Lions fell behind in the contest.  In the second of the two phone calls, Payton said “I will blow up your building.”  Payton appeared in Federal Court in Detroit Monday for a removal hearing.  He must report to Federal Court February 14th to face charges.  He has been freed on bond.  He admitted to making the calls. According to an FBI agent, who added “Payton stated he never meant any harm in making the calls…saying ager got the better of him while he was watching the game.”
