Just after 4:00 Tuesday morning officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to a single vehicle fatal accident on East Monroe Street.  WKHM spoke with Deputy Police Chief John Holda.

23 year old man from Michigan Center was the only person in the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene.  So far speed is the only contributing factor in the accident but the investigation is continuing.  Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them.  The bridge has been inspected and is safe for use.
